CEO/Founder: Bret Adams, PT, MPT, ATC, CSCS

Hometown: Boise, Idaho

Degrees: Masters of Physical Therapy (Idaho State University) and Bachelors of Exercise Science (Brigham Young University)

Why Physical Therapy?: Bret has always been intrigued by the miraculous human body and how it functions. When looking at possible careers, he knew that he wanted to be a physical therapist directly involved in helping people. Having the chance to experience physical therapy as a patient due to a knee injury and a back injury, Bret discovered the perfect profession to fit his interests. Bret loves to see people improve their lives. He started Idaho Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in 2002.

Bret and his team are always advancing their knowledge in the profession to keep up on the latest research and techniques that provide the best results. He respects every patient and communicates the benefits of health and wellness so clear that patients understand and recover successfully.

Specialties: Bret has a wide range of certifications including McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy, Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and is an ASTYM Provider. As a physical therapist for more than 20 years, he is an expert in back pain and neck pain.

Hobbies: Bret loves spending time with his 3 children. You can also find him doing anything and everything in the great outdoors from biking, hiking, rafting, snowmobiling, and golfing. Bret also never misses an episode of American Idol!

Co-Owner: Dr. Jeffrey R. Taylor, PT, DPT

Hometown:  Fruitland, Idaho

Degrees:  Doctorate of Physical Therapy (Idaho State University) and Bachelor of Science (Boise State University) 

Following Boise State University, Jeff moved to Pocatello, Idaho to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Idaho State University (ISU). While at ISU, Jeff had the opportunity to focus his clinical rotations on outpatient orthopedics. Jeff graduated from ISU in 2012 at the top of his class with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Jeff is certified in athletic training and is a certified ASTYM provider.  Jeff is one of the only physical therapists who specializes in vertigo in Meridian and has a high success rate with getting his patients better with physical therapy for the spine, orthopedics, and vertigo. 

Why Physical Therapy?:  Jeff enjoys the unique opportunity to help individuals return to a high functional status and improve their quality of life by participating in physical therapy.  Jeff’s patients range between the ages of 8-97 years old.  Jeff is kind, patient, and truly cares about the patients’ well-being.  Jeff sees patients with injuries, from pre-operative and post operative physical therapy in hip fracture recovery and total knee replacements.

Hobbies:  As an Idaho native, Jeff enjoys all outdoor activities, such as, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, and rafting. Jeff also tries to stay active with participation in recreational sports, cardiovascular training, and resistance training.

Dr. Kristen Folger, PT, DPT

Hometown:  Salem, Oregon

Degrees:  Doctorate of Physical Therapy (A.T.  Still University, Mesa, Arizona)  and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (Boise State University)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Kristen has always enjoyed helping others achieve their goals and she wanted a career that would allow her to make a positive difference in people’s lives on a day to day basis.  She was first exposed to PT following her mother’s hip replacement surgery and from there her interested in the medical field took off.  Physical Therapy seemed like the perfect fit due to her athletic background and her eagerness to help others achieve an active lifestyle.  Kristen provides physical therapy services in Meridian, Idaho. 

Specialities:  Spine, Orthopedic, Vestibular in Physical Therapy

Hobbies:  Playing with her dog, Hailey, including fetch at any of the local parks or taking her to the river to swim.  Road trips all over the country; her goal is to visit all 50 states.  Participating in any and all recreational sports and staying active with cardiovascular fitness and resistance training.

Denice Y. Romero-Marquez, MSPT, PT

Hometown:  Born & raised in Mexico, lived on both ends of the United States, recently implanted to Boise, ID area.

Degrees: BS in Anatomy and Physiology (Andrews University), MS in Physical Therapy (Andrews University)

Why Physical Therapy?: 

Denice believes that there is a higher power that has fearfully and wonderfully made the human body.  There is something phenomenal that happens when the right treatment approach is applied to the human body, which results in improved function because the body adapted to the changes it was exposed to.   The opportunity to participate in creating those changes in the body, is both an honor and a thrill for Denice.

After 22 years in practice, Denice continues to look for opportunities to advance her skills and knowledge in order to better serve her patients.  She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with other therapists and collaborating as a team in order to complement each other’s strengths, for better patient outcomes.

Specialties:  Over the years, Denice has had the opportunity to practice PT in different settings and taking with her new skills to add to her “bag of tricks”.  In the past 3 ½ years, she has taken multiple courses on vestibular rehab and concussions, as well as treated patients with vestibular disorders.  Furthermore, she is an orthopedic generalist with a variety of manual skills, having completed 18 months of orthopedic continuing education through Folsom Physical Therapy in northern California.  She is also a Credentialed Clinical Instructor and has a passion for helping new/upcoming therapists develop and grow into this rewarding profession.

Hobbies:  Denice and her family thoroughly enjoy volley ball and are looking forward to watching BSU’s volleyball teams compete in this upcoming season.  Furthermore, she and her family LOVE movies, especially the Avenger’s series!  She and her family consider themselves “foodies” and explore different cuisine styles and new restaurants – feel free to share your recommendations with her!


Dr. Devyn R. Dodge, PT, DPT

Hometown:  Lancaster, California

Degrees:  Doctorate of Physical Therapy (Azusa Pacific University) and Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Physiology/Physical Therapy (Biola University)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Devyn has been an active person her entire life as a competitive gymnast, cheerleader and soccer player with hobbies such as snowboarding, wakeboarding and riding motorcycles. Her love for the medical field started while volunteering at a hospital in high school. During an internship in college she got her first taste of the physical therapy world, and after only a few weeks she knew she had found her calling in life.  Physical Therapy is the perfect blend of the medical field that helps people get out and do what they love pain free. Nothing beats the joy of seeing a person’s face when they reach their goals. Whether small goals like first steps after surgery, or big goals like an athlete returning to the field, every day is a day closer to reaching that goal.  Devyn is also a certified ASTYM provider.  Devyn services physical therapy in Boise.

Why Physical Therapy: I grew up playing sports all of my life. I played basketball and volleyball for most of the middle and high school.  I dealt with a shoulder injury in middle and high school and never knew the root cause until I attended Physical Therapy myself. From then on,  I knew I wanted to be in a field where I could be hands-on and not only be able to help others understand their injuries but also help them recover and get back to enjoying the things they love.  I wanted to be in a profession where I could help individuals stay active and healthy.

Hobbies: On the weekends, I like to stay active whether it’s biking, hiking, or going to the gym. I love spending time with my family and traveling and seeing new places.

Dr. Kim Baker, DPT, PT

Hometown:  Cincinnati, Ohio

Degrees: Doctorate of Physical Therapy (Mount St. Joseph University) and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Mount St. Joseph University)

Why Physical Therapy?: 

Kim grew up participating in multiple sports and activities growing up including competitive dance (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop), volleyball, and soccer. In middle school she had multiple foot fractures from competitive dancing where she attended rehab after for many months. She always loved helping others but found herself loving therapy as it helps people getting back to all the things they enjoy.

Hobbies:  Exercising, hiking, movies and TV series, football, baseball, and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs.

Troy Reid, PT, MPT Clinic Director: Orchard Clinic

Hometown: Boise, Idaho

Degrees: Masters of Physical Therapy (Idaho State University) and Bachelors of Exercise Science (Brigham Young University)

Why Physical Therapy?: Troy has worked with ISSPT over the last 15 years, contracting as a Home Health Provider. Troy’s passion for increasing his physical abilities in sports led him to the fascination of the human body’s capabilities. He personally improved his own speed, agility, power, balance, coordination and injury prevention through resistance training for years. Troy was faced with a serious ACL tear that resulted in surgical reconstruction and rigorous Physical Therapy. During his rehabilitation he was taught the treatment approach to regain and rebuild after his body had weakened and lost range of motion and the strength to function properly. He became passionate about helping others improve their overall wellness and quality of life. He serves in the Idaho Army National Guard.

Hobbies: Troy enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing and spending time with his wife, Maddie and 4 grandkids.


Dr. Jordan Henretty, PT, DPT 

Hometown:  Peachtree City, Georgia

Degrees:  Doctorate of Physical Therapy (Wheeling Jesuit University) and Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology (University of California, Santa Barbara)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Being active has always been important to Jordan. She grew up participating in sports and activities, such as tennis, basketball and competitive cheerleading/tumbling. Her interest in physical therapy arose after she underwent surgery for scoliosis. It was a turning point where she began to realize the importance of movement, not only for being active, but also for improving one’s psychological well-being. She became intrigued with the human body and how physical therapy can help people, who are limited in their daily activities by pain/injuries, achieve their full potential.

Hobbies: On the weekend, you may find Jordan hiking, running, playing tennis, target shooting or swimming at the lake. She also loves to spend time with her family, travel, paint, watch movies/TV, and go to the gym.

Dr. Steve Oswald, PT, DPT, OCS, PES

Hometown:  Mountain Home, ID

Degrees:  Doctor of Physical Therapy (Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions) and Bachelors of Health Sciences & Biology (College of Idaho)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Steve has always been fascinated by the human body and movement. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to be in the medical field. Steve’s tipping point with selecting physical therapy as a profession was after his own rehabilitation experience, following a basketball injury that resulted in an ACL reconstruction. His personal experience with physical therapy was his catalyst for a passion in helping others improve their life experiences through optimizing movement quality and reducing their pain.  Steve is a Perfomance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through NASM; he has a strong background in fitness and performance training, helping transition athletes and weekend-warriors back into activities they may be having difficulty performing.  Steve services physical therapy in Boise.

Hobbies:  Steve is an active outdoorsman, frequently hiking, mountain biking, camping, backpacking during the summer, while enjoying skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing during the winter months. Steve is also an avid sports fan, especially college football (GO BOISE STATE!). You can typically find Steve glued to a TV watching football, or in attendance of a game most Saturdays from September to December.

Kelli Ayers, PTA

Hometown:  Soda Springs, Idaho

Degrees:  Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant and also Massage Therapy (Idaho State University College of Technology)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Kelli has been active in sports growing up playing everything from basketball, volleyball, track & field, and softball. In 8th grade, Kelli tore her ACL playing basketball requiring surgery and rehab following. She loved the idea of being able to help people achieve the same success she got from her therapy and help others get back to doing what they enjoy. Kelli completed the Massage Therapy program in 2009 and worked part-time as a MT while completing the PTA program. She became active in bodybuilding and powerlifting within the past few years which has helped her in more ways than just strength training but also educating herself and others on how to avoid future injuries. Kelli provides physical therapy in Boise.  Kelli is also a certified ASTYM provider.

Jake Skinner, Therapy Trainer

Why Physical Therapy?: Jake went through physical therapy as an injured athlete and developed an interest in exercise science.  Now he is excited to be on the other side, helping people return to the level of activity they need to achieve their goals and maintain their health.

Hobbies: Jake enjoys being outdoors like any native Idahoan whether that’s being out on the lake, camping, or snowboarding. Jake also enjoys staying active, playing rec sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Zac Heyrend, Therapy Trainer

Hometown:  Idaho Falls, Idaho

Degrees:  Associate of Art and Associate of Science (Paradise Community College) and Bachelor of Science in Biology (Boise State University)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Helping people regain the ability to take part in their sports, hobbies and passions or just helping them get back to a level of function that is required to live happily is such a rewarding experience that Zac feels he has to be a part of it!

Hobbies:  Zac is an outdoor enthusiast, he enojoys mountaineering, kayaking, and white water rafting. Zac is a professional river rat/Gambler- he worked as a professional guide on a number of rivers throughout the United States and Central America. It also brings him much joy being a husband to his wife Brittany and being a new father to his daughter.

Tyler Trifiletti, Therapy Trainer

Hometown: Woodbury, MN

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Wellness & Health (University of Dubuque)

Why Physical therapy?:  Tyler went through physical therapy as a high school baseball player with a slightly torn acl. He loved the way he was able to heal and get back to playing.  Tyler also went through physical therapy multiple times as a college baseball player. He enjoys being able to help patients get back to full health and doing things they thought they would never be able to do again. Tyler also enjoys being able to connect with patients to help them get through the pain a lot easier and make their therapy experience more enjoyable.

Hobbies:  Tyler loves doing research on new forms of exercise and other health related topics.  He is currently in the process of getting his CSCS (strength & conditioning coach certification) as well his EP-C ( certified exercise physiologist).   Tyler does anything outdoors such as hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, and many others.

As a former collegiate athlete, Tyler watches baseball, college sports and NFL.  He cooks many different types of food and enjoys spending time with his dog and girlfriend.

Chase Labbe, Therapy Trainer

Why Physical Therapy?: Chase has been through physical therapy several times from both sports injuries and less athletic activities. Through this, a deep interest arose leaving him always wanting to learn more about the profession and help people regain their ability to return to their daily lives without pain.

Hobbies: Chase enjoys being outdoors whether that means skiing up at Bogus Basin in the winters or hiking to reach a fishing hole in the summer, the place for him is taking in the fresh air and scenery.


Amy Gabica, Therapy Trainer

Degree:  Bachelor of Science in Human Performance, with minors in Pre-PT, Psychology and Visual Studies (The College of Idaho)

Why Physical Therapy?:  With the help of a sports medicine class in high school, Amy found physical therapy to be something she knew she would love doing for the rest of her life. Being able to help someone overcome injuries and/or pain creates a joy that she did not know was possible. Just the way the human body works, how it is capable to heal itself amazes her to the point that she wants to keep learning about it. Also playing sports in high school helped Amy want to stay within the athletic realm which lead to her career choice. Amy was very fortunate to know exactly what she wanted to do and what exactly she wanted to get her degree in once she graduated high school.

Sam Soliz, Therapy Trainer

Why Physical therapy?:  Sam was first introduced to physical therapy after she torn her gastrocnemius playing soccer. She enjoyed being able to build connections with her physical therapists and therapy trainers, all while watching her healing progress and in the end she was able to return to the sport she loved. Sam thrives on building relationships with patients and watching them progress through their treatment, and seeing them be able to return to their favorite activities. She enjoys helping implement all different types of exercises and modifying them to best fit a patient’s needs, all while building bonds with those individuals.

Hobbies: Sam enjoys running and walking along the greenbelt. Finding the best food places in Idaho, watching The Office and Friends, and meeting new puppies!

Sydney “Syd” Adams, Patient Relations

Why Physical Therapy?:  Syd loves being a part of patient and business experiences.  Syd listens to patients’ feedback and cares deeply for the patient to have a 5-star experience every time they walk through the door.  “Idaho Spine and Sports Physical Therapy is highly sought after because they are unique in their specialty clinics and highly focuses on the patient experience; more than just the pain.  There is no other clinic like them in town.” 

Hobbies:  Syd loves going to comedy shows at Liquid Laughs downtown.  She enjoys reading, yoga and taking her dog for walks.  Sydney speaks Farsi!

Degree:  Bachelor of Science in Human physiology (University of Oregon)

Why Physical Therapy?:  Ever since high school, Eric has been obsessed with the human body, especially the muscular system. Throughout college in his human anatomy cadaver lab, his favorite subject was the muscles and how varied they all are.  During college he fell in love with exercising and through exercise, he also injured his back several times.  After participating in physical therapy and then shadowing physical therapist, Eric fell in love with subject because of how satisfying it was to see a patient reach their goals and regain their functional levels to get their life back.

Hobbies: Playing and watching sports, exercising, spending time with family and friends, hiking, swimming, jet skiing, traveling and playing games.

Cassie Williamson, Scribe Extraordinaire

Degree:  Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropology and Pre-Medical Studies (Boise State University)

Why Physical Therapy? :  Cassie has always had an interest in medicine and helping people to improve their health. As a Pre-medical student she hopes to pursue a career in trauma surgery, and her desire to help people has influenced her studies in Anthropology.

Why Physical Therapy?: Jordan loves meeting new people and giving them a smile on their face.  She also loves helping those who need it. Hearing those she helped say thank you with a smile on their face, that’s the most satisfying thing to Jordan.  Whether it’s under-served populations or those who thrive in their environment, she’s here to listen and be there through the hard and easy times. She wants everyone to have a positive and welcoming experience.

Why Physical Therapy? Jordan loves to be able to help with patient needs in any way shape or form. She loves to be the first person to greet in coming patients and loves to make the experience as best as possible for anyone no matter the need. She is always there to help in anyway shape or form and will try to find the best solution to any problem.

Hobbies: Jordan loves to be in the mountains no matter if it’s camping, kayaking, or floating down a river. She also loves to play with her dog Samson who also loves being in the water just as much as she does!

 Why Physical Therapy? : Having injuries that were stopping me from practicing yoga was an eye opener. Physical Therapy has helped me strengthen and heal those injuries to get back on my mat. Knowing how physical therapy has worked for me, I love being part of a team that helps heal other people.

 Hobbies: Yoga (practicing and teaching), reading anything from horror stories to Zen Buddhism, gardening, being outdoors, and hanging out with my family and two chihuahuas.

Why Physical Therapy?:  Ariana has had many years of experience in front house of various settings from Restaurants to Residential Halls. Her school and work experience has led to pursuit of working in the hospitality and service field. At the heart of which is people!  Physical Therapy has been present in her family as they appreciate being active. Seeing the benefit it as had to her own life and those around her, she is excited to be able to assist the process of helping people achieve their personal goals by creating a friendly environment from the first introduction.
