Dr. MacDonald is a wonderful addition to our medical community. He works at the Primary Health Medical Group on State Street which is their largest facility; offering multiple specialties allowing the doctors to easily consult one another so their patients receive the best treatments possible.
He specializes in Family Practice and is very passionate about medicine and his patient’s health. He loves listening to his patients and addressing all their needs and concerns. He treats patients of all ages and conditions including cardiovascular disease, endocrine disorders, depression, anxiety, chronic pain and more.
He has had a fascinating education and career taking him all over the country including the West Caribbean, New York City, San Diego and Wyoming. If you get a chance, ask him about his undergrad research experience involving sneaking up on elephant seals, injecting them and running as fast as he can…. very funny story! He always knew he wanted to be a doctor, following in the footsteps of his grandfather. He chose Family Medicine because of the challenges it provides and the ability to treat all types of patients and illnesses.
Beatrice is Dr. MacDonald’s Medical Assistant who works by his side. She is very caring and helps him manage his busy schedule so he can focus on spending time with his patients.
He has had success referring his patients to physical therapy for musculoskeletal pain. He likes to stay in close communication with the therapists to ensure his patients are improving and to determine if other treatments are needed as well.
When Dr. MacDonald is not helping his patients in the clinic, he can be found spending time with his wife and hiking with his two dogs Abbie, a Labradoodle, and Cecilia, a Portuguese Water Dog. He enjoys backpacking and mountaineering. He even climbed Mount Whitney, which is the highest summit in the United States.
Dr. MacDonald’s patients always talk highly of him and appreciate his interest in their health and personal lives.
